Tønder Festival has been bringing Emmylou, Lyle Lovett and Lucinda to a tiny border town every August since 1975. Around it: a steady scene of Danish Americana — The Sandmen, Marie Fisker, Kira Skov — that takes the form as seriously as any country in Scandinavia.
Tønder Festival (August) is the anchor; Copenhagen Americana clubs Vega and Pumpehuset host most of the touring traffic.
